Diego Q&A

Who is Diego de Vera?

Can you share a memorable experience from your career that significantly impacted you?
Certainly! It is hard because I have too many, but recent experience that significantly impacted me was receiving heartfelt gratitude from people whose lives I've helped transform. Their appreciation for the positive changes, increased motivation, confidence, and discipline I've helped them develop serves as a powerful reminder of the impact we can have on others. These moments reinforce my commitment to continue supporting and empowering others on their journeys.
What is your training philosophy, and how do you apply it to your work?
My  training philosophy is also my gym motto, "Stronger than all," embodies my personal commitment to excellence and relentless determination. In everything I do, I strive to surpass not only others but also my own limits. I believe in outworking everyone and giving my best effort in every endeavor, reflecting my unwavering dedication to continuous improvement and personal growth. "Stronger than all" is not just my motto but a mindset that drives me to push boundaries and achieve greatness in every aspect of my life.
How do you stay motivated and continue to grow in your field?

My motivation and growth stem from my role as a role model for my family, students, employees, and followers. I hold myself to high standards, embracing challenges for continuous improvement. By staying updated in my field and prioritizing self-care, I ensure I lead by example effectively. This commitment to being a positive influence drives my ongoing growth journey.

What advice would you give to someone just starting in martial arts or tactical training?
To someone just starting in martial arts or tactical training, I would emphasize the transformative journey ahead. It's crucial to understand that the path will be challenging—there will be moments when you feel like quitting. However, it's worth it. Martial arts and tactical training will change you for the better, instilling confidence, self-control, perseverance, and an indomitable spirit that transcends into all aspects of your life. Embrace the journey wholeheartedly, knowing that every obstacle you overcome will mold you into a stronger, more resilient individual. It's a challenging ride, but one that promises immense personal growth and fulfillment.
How has your martial arts career influenced your approach to tactical training?
My martial arts career has significantly influenced my approach to tactical training, especially considering my military background. Teaching combatives revealed to me that many individuals lack fundamental fighting skills before delving into tactical weaponry. In martial arts, we understand that mastery begins with empty hands combat—learning to manage adrenaline, control situations, and respond effectively. This principle directly translates to tactical training; proficiency with firearms, knives, or sticks becomes more powerful when built upon a foundation of unarmed combat skills. By prioritizing empty-hand techniques, individuals can better manage the adrenaline rush inherent in high-stress situations, ensuring they remain effective and adaptable in any scenario.
